拉胡尔（沙鲁克·罕 Shahrukh Khan 饰）从小就受到了家人的过度保护，因此年纪一大把了连一次谈恋爱的经历都没有。爷爷生日那天，拉胡尔和两个好友偷偷溜出了家，没想到爷爷却在当天去世了。受奶奶所托，拉胡尔带着爷爷的骨灰踏上了旅程，前往位于南部的拉姆斯瓦兰，在那里将骨灰投入圣水之中。
