考古学家乔治?海克尔（Christopher Connelly 饰）协同记者妻子艾米丽（Martha Taylor 玛莎?泰勒 饰）、10岁的小女儿苏西（Brigitta Boccoli 饰）正在埃及进行挖掘考察。某天，苏西遇见神秘的失明女子，并从该女子手中得到镶有蓝色宝石的护身符。不久，乔治在挖掘一个古墓时受到神秘蓝光的刺激而双目失明，其助手更不行因此丧命。
